If you are using Windows, then you are using what is known as virtual memory. Without getting into the technical side of things, if you are low on disk space, that means you are also low on virtual memory. Once this starts happening, you will start to get strange errors throughout your computer. Free up some disk space, run scandisk, run a complete defrag of your system, restart your system and try again.
