Internal Link NetEase Quick Setup

If you have purchased a new computer with Windows Vista on it you can use the NetEase Quick Setup to setup your computer or if you would like to set up your Internet Connection manually follow these instructions. DO NOT use the older NetEase setup disc to configure your Internet settings as there will be a conflict with the newer software.

  1. Click the Windows Button (Start Button)
  2. Click Network
  3. Click Network and Sharing Center on the top tool bar.
  4. Click Set up a connection or network on the left side of the window.
  5. Click the Set up a dial-up connection and click Next
  6. Enter the appropriate dial up number for your respective area:
    Decatur/Henderson County: 845-5285
    Wayne County: 722-6700
    Perry County: 589-6700
  7. Enter your Username and Password into their respective boxes. You will need to re-enter the password in the second password box. Click Next to continue.
  8. Make sure Remember this password is checked.
  9. Type NetEase into the Connection name box.
  10. Click Connect.
  11. Click Set up connection anyway.
  12. Click Close.
  13. Click the Windows Button (Start Button).
  14. Click E-mail - Windows Mail in the pop-up menu.
  15. Click the Tools menu
  16. Click Accounts
    You may see Microsoft Communities (default) in the list. If so, click on it once, then click Remove.
  17. Click Ok to confirm the removal.
  18. Click Add, then click E-Mail Account, then click Next.
  19. Enter your real name (e.g. John Doe) in the box next to Display Name, click Next.
  20. Enter your Email Address (e.g. jdoe@netease.net), and click Next
  21. Make sure Incoming e-mail server type is set to POP3
  22. Enter mail.netease.net in the box below Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP server.
  23. Enter smtp.netease.net in the box below Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP), click Next.
  24. Enter your NetEase username (e.g. jdoe) into the E-mail username box.
  25. Enter your password into the Password box, click Next.
  26. Click the Finish.
  27. Close Windows Mail.

You're Finished! You can click Start, then Internet Explorer to open your browser, then click Connect in the dialup connection box that appears to begin the connection process.
