The Decatur County Community Action Network (DC CAN) was formed in 1997 through a United Way of Metropolitan Nashville grant that was generously funded by local community members, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ayers. Community DC CAN is a partnership of all citizens, businesses, industries, local government, churches, schools, and civic groups with a common vision for improving the quality of life in Decatur County. Action AmeriCorps Days, RiverFest, MainStreet Decaturville, Community Playground, Existing Industry Council, Education Foundation, Great American Cleanup, Governor's Three Star Award, Support for Industrial Development & More! Network Working together for future goals including Training for Business & Industry, Developing Leadership, Involving Youth, Maximizing the Tennessee River, Expanding Tourism & More! DC CAN recognizes that strong communities are built on collaborative relationships that improve the overall quality of life. Economic development encompasses business and industrial factors, as well as education, housing, and environmental conditions. |
