Joint Economic and Community Development Board

This Board, made up of local government officials and community business leaders, is one of the first active JECD Boards in the State of Tennessee. The JECD Board's focus on infrastructure related to industrial growth is a strong complement to the Decatur County Community Action Network (DC CAN), which continues to focus on community development and capacity building. The work of both boards is necessary for economic development. The JECD Board has approved an Industry Response Plan and a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) program. Board members also encouraged and supported the establishment of the Benton-Decatur Special Sewer District.
