is MainStreet?
Decaturville
is an extraordinary historical town nestled in one of the most beautiful
areas of Tennessee. The MainStreet initiative, established by local citizens,
focuses on the revitalization of downtown Decaturville. MainStreet concentrates
efforts toward clean-up/beautification, historical preservation/renovation,
and community events that maximize the potential in attracting new businesses
and industries. MainStreet recognizes the potential of small town America
and the benefits of a healthy economy and historic city core that reflects
the community's heritage and ideals.
How
does MainStreet work?
Civic-minded
community members including representatives from government, business,
and financial entities collaborate in meetings to determine goals and
prioritize work. Projects are completed through the support of community
volunteers working together for the betterment of Decaturville.
How
is MainStreet funded?
MainStreet
is a nonprofit organization that raises money through annual membership
fees, various events, local donations, and funding from Decatur County
Community Action Network (DC CAN).
Who
should be involved in MainStreet?
Everyone
who wants to see an expanding and successful future in the Town of Decaturville
should be involved. To join MainStreet contact Decaturville City Hall
or one of MainStreet Board Members and pay the minimal annual fee ($10).
