This years Mother-Daughter Theme was Mardi Gras. We had a great time choosing the decorations, prizes, and table favors.
Every person who attended received numerous favors. The ladies and their guests went home with hand made Place Cards and Name Tags done by Twyla Heikes. They had wands, Beads galore, masks, bubble bum and mints. Our six waiters were Lynn Walters, Marlyn Heikes, Thomas McCullom, Pastor William Jones, David Rosenberry and Gene Wilson who all did a really fine job
of "waiting on the ladies". Janet Ewertz, President of the CPWM, made the opening announcements and presented the speaker. Our guest speaker this year was Harrell Carter, from Jackson TN News Talk and Director of the Mardi Gras Parade held in Jackson TN each year.
He talked about when and how the Jackson Mardi Gras was started.
Our fabulous meal, consisting of Lemon Chicken, Tenderloin Marsala, Fruit Salad, Baked Potatoes, King Cake, Pecan Pie, Strawberry Truffle and Emeril Lagasse Choclate Brownie Cake, was catered by Bonnie Hall Caterers and it was delicious.
Door prize winners for the evening were Katelyn Wilson, Jeannie Ross, Freda Kyle, Wanda Rosenberry, Beth Blow and Pat Jones.
Here are just a few of the pictures that were taken - a great time was had by all!!!
Twyla Heikes officially greeted our
guests at the door where they were presented with their name tags and a couple of strands of beads.
Each guest was asked to sign their name to the back of their ticket, which was then placed into
a hat for the door prize drawings to be held later.
Our guests then
passed through the Mardi Gras Portals heavily decorated with beads and streamers. Lynn Walters was there to greet some of the
guests - but the "waiters" main job was to help the ladies find their seats, get them refreshments and see that they were made
comfortable.
Pastor William and Thomas are no doubt conferring here on the proper way to wait tables.. or ..
what "do" you suppose they were talking about ?
Several of our guests just catching up with the gossip
