JAMES THOMAS CONGER
1919 - 2007

Funeral services for James thomas Conger, 87, will be held Monday January 29, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Reed's funeral Home with Bro. Richard Savage and Bro. William Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery.

Mr. Conger was born March 28, 1919, in Lexington TN to Myrtle and Leon Conger, Sr. and died peacefully at home Saturday night surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Irene Chumney Conger. He leaves their daughter Renee McCollum ofLexington and Inez McMichael of Senatobia, MS. He also was preceded by his second wife of 30 years, Alice P. Conger; his parents; his brother Leon and sister Inez Conger Evans.

Besides his daughter he is survived by his sister, Emily Jane Ridenour, grandson Thomas McCollum, grandaughter Leesa small, several step grandchildren.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington. Mr. Conger retired after 41 years as a conductor with the L 7 N Railroad. Mr. Conger was an avid sportsman. He had a great love for the Tennessee River and was so knowledgeable about the river, it's history and routes that people often called him for information.
