Funeral services for Mr. Gray Lynn Bawcum, age 81, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lexington, TN with Rev. William Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Parsons. Pafford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bawcum died late Sunday (29 October 2006) in Jackson, TN. He was born August 7, 1925 in Decatur County to the late Samuel H. and Maggie A. (Livingston) Bawcum. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran, serving in WWII and Korea, a retired aerospace engineer for Westinghouse, a member of the Masons, Shriners, Scottish Rite, and York Rite, and a Presbyterian.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Bawcum and four brothers, Connie, Jack, John, and Charles Bawcum. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Calaway Bawcum of Lexington; his son, Russell Lynn Bawcum of Woodbridge, VA; his daughter, Melissa Garrett of Lexington, three stepsons, Andy Calaway of Bartlett, TN, Dennis Calaway of Mobile, AL, and Bill Calaway, Jr. of Lexington; three stepdaughters, Belynda Looney of West Memphis, AR, Deondra Baker of Lexington, and Carolee Stafford of Marion, AR, four brothers, Hersell Bawcum of Nashville, TN, Henry Bawcum of Parsons,TN, Dean Bawcum of Hollow Rock, TN and Robert Bawcum of Ocean Springs; a sister, Frances Haggard of Nashville; three grandchildren, Boyd, Sean, and Kristin Garrett; two great grandchildren, Kiara and Aubrey Garrett; many step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and a step great great grandson.
