Jerrel D. "Chummy" Jones
1916 - 2004

Mr. Jones died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004 in Lexington. He was the son of the late Rev. Dorsey Jones and Ollie Jones and was retired from the city of Lexington where he worked as the Director of Public Works for thirty-six years. He was a county commissioner and the oldest member of the Fair Association and Board of Directors.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Lucille Tuck Jones, his daughter, Debbie (Steve) Griffin, two sisters, Lola Martin and Gladys Snider, two brothers, D. L. Jones, Jr. and John Allen Jones, four grandchildren, Tracey Core, Vickie Quarles, Mickey Jones, and Becky Colon, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jerry Jones, his sisters, Raymelle and Edith Jones, and brothers, Nathaniel, Attice, and Earl Jones. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Monday, Sept. 6, 2004 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery
