The Directors of The Heritage Registry of Who's Who take pleasure in announcing the inclusion of Rev. C. William Jones, Jr. of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the forthcoming 2006- 2007 Edition. The accomplishments and achievements attained by Rev. C. William Jones, Jr. in the field of Religious and Membership Organization Services with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church warrants inclusion into The Heritage Registry of Who's Who TM. The Heritage Registry of Who's Who, a New York based biographical publication, selects and distinguishes individuals throughout North America who have attained a recognizable degree of success in their field of endeavor and thereby contributing to the growth of their industry.


Rev. Jones, a native of Mt. Juliet, TN was born November 25, 1967 to Charles and Donna Jones, Sr. He is a fifth plus generation Cumberland Presbyterian and grew up in the Cloyd's Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mt. Juliet. Rev. Jones graduated from Bethel College, McKenzie TN, in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1993, he received his Masters of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary, where he was presented the Excellence in Homiletics Award. That same year, Rev. Jones was ordained into the ministry of the Word and Sacrament by the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Rev. Jones has served as the pastor of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lexington TN since March 2000. He has previously served as pastor to the Oak Hill Union Church in Paris, TN (1987-1992), and Youth Minister (1997-2000); as Christian Education Director Youth Minister at the Manchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 1991-1992; and pastor to the Mill Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Puryear. TN (1992-2000).

Rev. Jones has served as church camp director and counselor at Camp Crystal Springs in Kelso, TN and at Camp Clark Williamson in Jackson, TN. He has also served as Vacation Bible School director, Chairperson of the West Tennessee Presbyterial Brush Arbor, Auditor and member of the Board for the Synod of the Great Rivers, Vision Enabler for the Touch the Future program, Commissioner to three General Assemblies, Secretary and Chair of the West Tennessee Presbyterial Council, Moderator of West Tennessee Presbytery, and Engrossing Clerk of West Tennessee Presbytery.

A firm believer that being involved in the community is vital to the ministry and growth of the church, Rev. Jones has been very active in the communities he has pastored. He served as Secretary and Christmas Kettle Coordinator for the Henry Co. Salvation Army Service Unit, Coordinator for the St. Jude's Children's Hospital community Bike-A-Thon, Coordinator for the Appalachian Mountain Missions in Henry Co, President and Christmas Basket Coordinator of the Henry Co. Ministerial Association, Board member of the Henry Co. Family Resource Center, Chaplain at the Henry Co. Medical Center, and President/Secretary of the Puryear Lions Club.

Since moving to Lexington in 2000, Rev. Jones has served or is serving as Chaplain for Henderson Co. Medical Center, an officer in the Lexington Lions Club, Zone Chairman for Lions Club District 12-L, Commissioner of the Lexington Housing Authority, and Board member of HOPE Ministries and the Henderson Co. United Assistance. He has participated in the Henderson Co. Muscular Dystrophy Lock-Up on several occasions. Rev. Jones also leads Wednesday Bible Study at the Lexington Community Center. He and his wife Pat actively support TN Valley Teen Challenge and Operation Christmas Child. Rev. Jones participates in various special services in the County, such as Holy Week, Thanksgiving, and Baccalaureate. He even provides state mandated Pre­Marital Counseling through the County Clerk's office.

These are just part of Rev. Jones' active ministry. They do not include the every day activities that take place at the Lexington First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 931 N. Broad Street. Rev. Jones and wife Pat have enjoyed their ministry in Lexington and look forward to the wonderful blessings God has for their church and community.
