Funeral services for Burley B. “Glen” Stone, age 62, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, March 30 at the Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wayne Tompkins officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery. Glen, the son of the late J.D. & Irona (Maness) Stone, died Friday, March 27, 2009 in Jackson. He was a member of the Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church and owner of Stone Transportation. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed traveling and working with his trucking company. Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Ann McAdams Stone; his two daughters: Allison Daniels (Zachary) and Andrea Brewer (Heath); a son, David B. Stone (Vanessa) and their children: Avery, Raegan, Emma and Alex; two brothers: Bobby and Wilburn Stone and a sister, Betty Eaves. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Andrew Stone and a brother, Billy James Stone.

Don't Grieve For Me

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

God wanted me now, He set me free.
