Spam Filter Implementation
As part of our continuing efforts to reduce the amount of spam arriving in our customers inbox,
NetEase has implemented new spam filtering technology that provides fewer false positives and keeps your mailbox clean from almost
all of the spam.
While there is not a total solution to stopping spam this technology has proven to work with strong accuracy.
Although NetEase still rejects commonly known spam offenders at our mail gateways, our filtering model takes messages that are believed to be
unsolicited and sends them to a "suspect_spam" folder which resides on the mail server separate from your Inbox.
You can access this folder by logging in to your mail box via web mail. Suspect spam over 7 days old is removed from the server automatically
so you do not have to worry about cleaning it out.
Did we mention not having the ability to maintain total accuracy?
If there is a valid message that is being filtered there are a couple of actions you can take.
