Optimizing Internet Mail

Open Internet Mail
Open the Mail Menu and click Options
Click the Read tab
Make sure that "Check for new mail every "x" minutes" is unchecked. This will allow you to read and write mail offline and only connect when you are ready to Send & Receive.
Click the Server tab and verify all info
Unless specified otherwise, NetEase users will use the following:
Name: Your real name
Organization: May be left blank
E-mail address: yourusername@netease.net
Mail Servers:
(Incoming) mail.netease.net
(Outgoing) smtp.netease.net
In the Account Information Area make sure that "Logon Using Account" is checked.
The Account Username is: yourusername
The Account Password is: yourpassword

Note: Your username and password must match the information on your account info sheet.

Click the Advance Settings button
In the Reply-To box either insert your e-mail address or leave it totally blank. Most e-mail programs today are smart enough to know where to send the reply. This is generally handy if the Reply-To address is different than the sender. e.g. Reply-To sales@mydomain.com

Click OK on the Advance Settings box, but do not close the Mail Options box yet.

Click the Connection Tab
Make sure that "I use a modem to access my e-mail" is checked and then verify that the dial up network connection for NetEase is in the box below.
Put a check mark in the "Disconnect when finished sending and receiving" box.

Note: This allows you to open Internet Mail while you are offline, read and write mail and then click the Send & Receive button on the tool bar. After delivering any new outgoing messages and retrieving any new mail on the server, Internet Mail will automatically disconnect, saving your online time for leisure browsing.

Click Apply to save your changes, then OK to close the Options box.
