The South Central Tennessee Toys for Tots Center,
located in Wayne County, Tennessee strives to give each and
every needy child in our area bright and shiny new toys for Christmas. "WE NEED YOUR
HELP."
There are many different ways in which you can help your local Toys for Tots organization. You can donate you time to assist in collection or distribution of toys. If you are running a business, you can request a Toys for Tots toy drop box be placed in you business to assist with donations. We are also always in need of toy or monetary donations as well. All toys and monetary donations collected in our area will be used and distributed to needy children in our area.

MARINE TOYS FOR TOTS FOUNDATION
2001 TOY DRIVE RESULTS
Washington, DC – January 31,
2002 – The results of the 54th annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots
Campaign, conducted during October, November and December 2001, have been
tabulated. U.S. Marines distributed more than 13.2 million new toys and brought
the joy of Christmas and a message of hope to over 6.0 million needy children
throughout the nation.
The 2001 campaign was the third most successful campaign in the 54-year history
of Toys for Tots. This is a significant accomplishment in view of the events of
the fall of 2001 and the resulting economic downturn. Only the campaigns
conducted in 2000 (1st place) and 1999 (2nd place) surpass the 2001 campaign.
Toys for Tots began with a single local campaign in Los Angeles in 1947.
Fifty-four campaigns later, local Toys for Tots campaigns were conducted in 388
communities covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
The 2001 campaign, therefore, had the most extensive coverage in the history of
Toys for Tots.
Toys for Tots is the U.S.
Marine Corps’ premier community action program, one of the nation’s flagship
Christmas charitable causes and the only charitable endeavor within the
Department of Defense which reaches outside the military establishment to make a
difference in lives and communities nationwide.
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, the fund raising and support organization
for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, had an equally
successful year during 2001. The Foundation supplemented the toy collections of
local community campaigns with more than 6.9 million toys valued at $36.4
million.
