It is thought that the graves of Angus Patterson (Veteran of the War of 1812) and his wife, Catherine Temple Patterson may also be buried in this cemetery, however there is no proof. Additional Information submitted by Mrs. Letty Atha of Cheyenne, OK. The following members of the Hinton family are supposed to be buried at Powell Cemetery. To get to the cemetery, from Collinwood, Tennessee, travel Tennessee Hwy. 13
south 4.1 miles and exit onto the Natchez Trace Parkway south. Go south on the
parkway 1.3 miles. Turn right (west) onto Piney Road (1st road to the right) and
go 4.6 miles to the cemetery. It is on the left side of the road across from the
church.
Piney Grove Cemetery is located in Wayne County Tennessee southwest of
Collinwood. The church and cemetery are located on Piney road. The cemetery is
across the road from Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. George & Nancy
Vickery deeded the original one-acre of land for the cemetery and original
church on September 13, 1909. Mr. John Weems deeded two more acres on March 18
1916. More land was deeded to the church later for parking and the cemetery as
well.

To reach this cemetery from Collinwood, Tennessee, travel south on Tennessee highway 13 for 4 miles, Turn right off of highway 13 and left (south) onto the Natchez Trace Parkway. Go about 2 miles and turn right onto Big Cypress Road. Go past Scotts Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and continue for 2.1 miles. The cemetery is on the left side of the road near the intersection of Big Cypress Road & J.B. Pigg Road.
This cemetery is in south/central Wayne County, Tennessee just off the Natchez Trace Parkway on Big Cypress Road. There are at least 16 graves in this cemetery marked only by fieldstones.

Mt. Hope Cemetery is located on Weatherford Creek Road in Wayne County, Tennessee. To reach the cemetery from Collinwood, travel south on Tennessee 13 for approximately 4.1 miles. Turn right onto the Natchez Trace access road, then left onto the parkway. Go about 6 miles and turn right (west) onto Weatherford Creek Rd. Travel about 1.1 miles and the cemetery is on the right side of the road. It lies between Mt. Hope Church Rd. and the Mt. Hope Church of Christ just north of the Cypress Inn Fire Department. This enumeration was completed on July 08, 2004. All records have been taken from headstones and/or foot markers and are current as of this date. This enumeration was begun near the northwest corner of the cemetery with Row 1 beginning about 25 yards south of the corner. There are quite a number of old graves in this cemetery dating back to an 1859-death date. Every effort has been made to list the rows in a simple manner for ease in finding graves, but as with many older cemeteries, the graves are sometimes misaligned making it difficult to do so. Location: About 1000 feet north of BM 753 NASH, and 1000 feet south of the intersection of Cypress Creek Road and Hayes Branch Road. The cemetery is approximately 1500 west of the Natchez Trace Parkway.
This cemetery was originally surveyed in 1971 and was published in Wayne County, Tennessee Cemetery And Dead Records as cemetery #114, page 199. When the cemetery was initially surveyed, the visible area of the cemetery consisted of a small plot of land surrounded by a wire fence. Since that time Thomas A. Holt has restored the cemetery to its original boundaries, installed a concrete and block wall around the cemetery, and located two additional tombstones. The first stone located in the process of restoring the cemetery was that of Hetty C. Stribling; the other was that of Sarah Cate Berry Pigg, butter known as "Granny" Pigg.

To reach the Darby Cemetery from Collinwood, Tennessee, travel Tennessee Hwy. 13 south for 4 miles turning right onto the Natchez Trace Parkway access road. Turn left (south) and go 8.6 miles. Turn right (west) onto Cooper Ridge Road. The cemetery is about .1 mile on the left. At the crest of a little hill, turn left and across the end of a field to the cemetery. It is about 50 yards off the paved road.
The Darby Cemetery is in extreme south/central Wayne County, Tennessee. The cemetery is fenced, relatively clean and maintained. This is an old burial ground and no church is nearby. The graves are scattered somewhat but there is ample room for more burials. The most recent burial was of John Richard Bone on March of 2003. This cemetery has at least 8 unknown graves, at least unknown to this surveyor.

This cemetery is located two to three miles east of Cypress Inn, Tennessee on highway 227 (Pumping Station Rd).
This cemetery is owned by the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church and maintained by descendants of those buried here and once or twice a year, inmates from the Clifton Tennessee Detention Facility clean the grounds. There are several graves that are marked only with rocks and no information on them. The oldest grave that has a marker has a birth date of 1810. Most of the ones marked with rocks are probably much older. There are three known Civil War Veterans buried here. A Nancye Neighbors listed in this file is said to be the first white person buried here according to historian Grace Carver. Several slaves were believed to be buried here first.
The church owns approximately five acres including the church grounds and cemetery. The cemetery area is presently being expanded.
