Does anyone have information regarding Baltis HINKLE (misspelled
Battis here and in many other places--crossing the "t" extends
slightly into the "l")? He is listed in the 1850 Wayne County census
as a laboror in the home of A.M. Craven (of Craven's/Martin's Mills).
The listed age (21) differs slightly from my ggrandfather Baltis, who
would have been 25/26. Perhaps the age of 21 is incorrect. I
haven't located another Baltis in any 1850 census; however, my
ggrandfather does show up in the Hardin County 1860 census with the
correct age.

The 1830 Census, Wayne County, lists three HINKLE/HINKEL names.
William and Jonathan believed to be brothers. Jesse believed to be
their father (ages fit, and all three have connections to Chester
County SC). Does anyone know what happened to Jesse? Jesse was age
60-70 in census. Did he die in the County, or move? Jonathan shows
up in 1850 census, Hardin County; William stayed in Wayne County.
Would like to get copy of wills, deeds, death certificates (for Jesse
and William)if anyone knows of their existence; or, any information
about the HINKLE famlies in Wayne County.

I'm looking for any clues that pertain to these families... William
J. Savage married Martha Henson (have all that info) I'm wanting to
know more about her family. In the 1900 Wayne Co. census the next
house from the Savage was a Henson Household, in it was a widow man,
four daughters a single sister-in-law and her son... The
sister-in-laws son's name has come up many times in this family so I
know that Martha was related to these Henson, she also falls in with
the girls in that households age group.. The family that I'm getting
this info from kept bringing up a Charlie Huffine, they was calling
him Uncle but if I figure correctly he was a cousin to Martha
Henson-Savage, one of Martha's sons eventually lived with this
"Uncle" Charlie, but he wasn't really a uncle but a cousin.. If any
of these people sounds familiar to anybody PLEASE, PLEASE contact
me...... Thanks so much... Mary Somers Savage

My GG grandfather and my GGG grandfather, I believe may have been at
Dickson or Overton county TN. Although I cannot prove this, there is
a James in the 1820 Overton Co. TN Census and a James and Jacob West
listed in the 1830 Census Records. Both the 1820 and 1830 Census
Records Match the age of my James West, and the 1830 Wayne Co. TN
Census Records as well. If I am correct, based on Census Records, I
can narrow my James West to either Overton or Dickson Co. in 1820 and
Wayne Co. in 1830 before his moved into MS by 1850. I apologize for
my request being somewhat vague, but I would be so grateful if

I am looking for info on my great great grandfather Jeremiah GRIGGS.
Jeremiah's fathers name was George W. GRIGGS and his mothers name was
Martha SMITH. Can't seem to find anything out about him. I know he
was in Wayne Co.in 1860, but I don't know where he went after that?
Thanks for the help! Ken Griggs
