Searching for information on Riley Goforth born November 17, 1835
Wayne County, Tennessee, died 1917 Greene County, Arkansas. Mother is
Delia (last name unknown) born c1801 SC on 1850 census of Wayne
County, TN. her children: Sherfield born c1828, (is Sherfield a
family name?) Eliza born c1833, Elvina born c1834, Riley, twin girls
M. & M. born c1837 and Jinsey born c1839. (Twins Muhulda & Maranda)
Delia died c1851 in Wayne County. Riley Goforth, wife Mary A.(last
name unknown), son John B. born c1867 are listed on the 1880 census
of Little Prairie, Pemiscot County, Missouri and are on the 1890 tax
list of Greene County, Arkansas. Riley and wife Mary A. are buried at
Hartsoe Cemetery, Greene County, Arkansas. "Umphrey Gofourth" is
listed as Riley's father on Riley's death certificate. Is this the
same Umphrey/Humphrey Goforth of Wayne County, Tennessee, son of
Zachariah Goforth?

I am searching for Thomas Jefferson Goforth b1846 and William G.
GOFORTH born c1802 who may be the son of Zachariah Goforth. William
G, age 48, is on the 1850 census of Wayne County, Tennessee with:
Martha, 20 Mahuldy, 14 William, 12 Alexander, 10 Margaret, 8 J.
(male),4 who may be Thomas Jefferson Goforth. Siblings of Thomas
Jefferson include: 1. James F. b.c1826 married (1) J.A.? (2) Lucy
A.O. McCLAIN 2. Jerry Monroe b1827 married Sarah Ann ABLES(This ABLES
family is listed on the 1850 Census of Wayne County, Tennessee and
migrated to Ballard County, Kentucky where the GOFORTH's & STAGGS
also went) 3. John bc1830 4. Joseph bc1835 married Catherine(maybe
FREIZE?) 5. Hulda b1844 married (1) GAMBREL/GAMBELL(2) George W.

My great-grandfather, Josiah Westmoreland Thornton is last recorded
in the 1900 census. He is 69 years old, a pedlar of country goods,
and is living in the household of his daughter, Emmarintha Ann
Thornton and her husband, James Franklin Greeson. I have no later
information on him, but it seems peculiar that there is no marker
next to his wife and their son's graves if he died in Wayne Co.
Anyone have a date or other information?

Has anyone researched the descendants of CHARLES ALEXANDER
(1755-1834)who died in Maury Co., TN? He filed his Revolutionary
Pension Application from Maury Co., not long before his death. Was
born in Mecklenburg Co., NC, son of Benjamin & Susannah Polk
Alexander. Any info appreciated.

central Arkansas. Interested in three brothers Felix Staggs, John
Bell Staggs, and Thomas Staggs. Felix is in McNairy Co Tn in the 1850
census. John Bell is in Wayne in the 1850 or 1860 Census of Wayne Co
Tn.

Interested in learning more about Joseph Walker (husband of Mary
"Polly" Hines) of Maury County, whose descendents migrated to
Birmingham, Alabama, in the 1880s and 1890's. Descendents were
Joseph Walker (born c. 1848) and Joseph Walker (born c. 1880).
Carpenters by trade. May have migrated first to Wayne County, TN,
before moving south to Birmingham in late 1880s. Wife was named

Trying to locate old family photos from the HOLT & BERRY families.

I am looking for James Shepherd who owned land in the 1836 Tax List
of Wayne Co. Close by him is Joshua H Shepherd also owning land.
Does anyone know anything about these Shepherd fellows. I know some
about James, but have never heard of Joshua and wonder if he may be a
brother or son. James was the brother of Mary Shepherd who was the

abt.1812. He was 32 years old when he married Elizabeth Walker, they
had 6 children. Then he married a Eleanor Bruitt/Pruitt, they had 2

I've been looking around the Wayne County Website and see that there
is a listing for "Beavers Graves" on the list of Cemeteries. I am
interested in knowing what Beavers are buried there. My
great-grandfather, David Crockett Beavers was born in Wayne County in
1839. His parents were William & Mary Sally (Riggins) Beavers. We
haven't been able to find any information on the parents or siblings
of William or Mary. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There was a Tom "T.S." CARR listed in several Wayne Co., TN census
beginning in 1850. This T.S. CARR was in Biffle's 9th Cavalry unit
during the civil war.
He is buried in a Morris Cemetery and notes at web address
http://www.netease.net/wayne/waynesboro.htm#88
states that he was the son of T.S. and Mary A. CARR
Is there anyone that might know where this T.S. CARR came from?
The Closest match I have found is Thomas Sanders CARR from Wilson
Co., TN But there is absolutley no evidence to support this
assumption.

I've had trouble tracing my Cunninghams. I recently received an
obituary of my grandfather's brother, James Franklin Cunningham, born
1857. The obituary said he was a native of Waynesboro Tn.. I do know
that his father was John Franklin Cunningham and think that his
mother was Mary Ann Hanson.

I am trying to find any information on Robert Henry ODOM, my
gr-gr-grandfather.Military records show he was b. in Wayne County,
Tn, Aug. 2, 1822. I, along with others working on this line, have
been unable to locate any link to prove he was b. there or the names
of his parents. He d. in Johnson Co., Ar in 1881. Other family
surnames include: Casey, Stewart, Swift, Davis, Clough. I know that
some were in that area by wagon train in early 1800's. Any help you
can give me would be greatly appreciated.

My ggrandfather was James Willard OSBORNE, married Anna FEATHERSTONE
on 9/23/1884 not sure what county. They had 4 children, Willie J
(d.10/1905 at age 18), Albert J.(my grandfather married Ollie
Kelley,c.1912 and had 7 children, Leo (d.1987), Lorrine, Guy,
Cecil(my father),Doris, Martha and Thomas d.age 2), Robert L. (no
info) and Bessie May(married Ben HUGHES). Anna's father was Thomas J.
FEATHERSTONE, no info on her mother. Also, need info on James Willad
parents. James and and his Wille are buried in unmarked graves in
Walnut Grove Cem. Waynesboro, as is Thomas J. FEATHERSTONE(marked).
Don't know about where Anna is buried, and have no info on Robert.

Looking for info on Jackson WALLACE b. Al. abt 1824 wifes name Eliza
lived in Wayne Co. Tn 1860/1870 census spelling was WALLIS Children
was James A., Elizabeth, John R, Mary F, Eliza J, Foster, Lorrah A,
Margret N, July A, (James A.one of the sons married Elizabeth
Protillo OLIVE). He was postmaster at Plasant Valley and also a
school teacher. James and Protillo are buried at Whittens cross road
cemetery Wayne Co Tn. Jackson and Eliza lived in 11th civil district
1870 census.

Looking for any information on or descendants of Sergeant James H.
RINKS, Co. A., 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry U.S. He married Susan
E. FOSTER Feb. 1866. James' father was David RINCK, son of Frantz
RINCK, Hessian soldier in the American Revolution. Does anyone know

Looking for any information on Nancy White, born 1831. She is the
daughter of George White and Susannah Hall. Nancy had a son named
Alonzo who married Mary Hanes. Nancy had 3 brothers, Minor White,
