I am trying to locate information on Silas Moore who married Morning Moon and had a daughter named Emily Moore (later Quaid) sometime around 1818. I am using this service because I saw a Silas Moore listed. In my records in 1901 Silas was already deceased and his daughter was applying for identification as a Mississippi Choctaw.

Looking for ancestors that came from Tennessee to Southeast Missouri in the mid to late 1800's. I do not have a county to work with. My great-great grandfather Jonothan Randell was born in Pemiscot County Missouri in 1880. The census records show his mother and father born in Tennessee. He married Nancy Katherine Brown in Missouri. Her records show her parents also from Tennessee.

Looking for information on my great grandmother Nancy Elizabeth
BREWER born 13 June 1856 in Waynesboro or Iron City. Her father was
Henry Jefferson BREWER (possibly the son of Enoch BREWER). Her mother
was Louisa Jane LACKEY. Henry J BREWER died around 1858 and Louisa
Jane married Leonard DANELY in 1860 in Waynesboro. The family moved

I'm looking for information about my great grandmother Nancy
Elizabeth BREWER b. 13 June 1856 in Waynesboro, TN. Her mother was
Louisa Jane LACKY. Her father was Henry J BREWER. He died sometime
between 1856 and 1860 in TN. After his death Louisa Jane married
Leonard DANLEY in 1860 in Waynesboro, TN. I believe Henry BREWER must
be buried in the Waynesboro area. Family history says he was part

Seeking info on kinships between these families in western Wayne
County (near Lutts/Pinhook?) in 1825-1850 period. My GGF William
Harrison Stricklin b. ca. 1843 Wayne Co was related to Nancy
Stricklin b. ca. 1768 VA who was on the 1830 & 1840 Wayne Co censuses
between Goforth households, then in 1850 in Decatur Co TN. After his
parents' deaths, he may have been living with a White family in
Hardin County in 1860. There is a genetic tie to kin of David Burris
b. NC in the 18th century.

Paralee ALLEN b. abt. 1856, Father: Robert ALLEN, Mother: Sarah
BRADLEY ALLEN, Paralee was about 7 years of age when her father
enlisted in the Civil War. I believe that the FOWLER family took her
in and she used their name. I do not know if they officially adopted
her or not. On her death record it shows: FOWLER, Paralee, Died. 24,
AUGUST 1916, Father__________?,ALLEN,Mother not given, burial at
Green River. This family lived at Cypress Inn,Wayne County,
TN.,untill Robert went to war. No other record of them untill 1880
in Maury Cunty,Tn.,
Two of the boys were never accounted for.......William Thomas ALLEN
(12) and Berry ALLEN.(9) when their father left for the war. I would
like to know if some kind soul took them in and maybe changed their
last names.
I have located two of the other daughters in Maury County,TN., am
continuing to search for all these children of Robert and Sarah's.
When Robert left for the war, Sarah was left with 6 children, the

Hi. I live in Washington State and I am having the hardest time
trying to find linage on my mothers fathers family. I was wanting to
know if anyone knew anyting about the HAMMITT'S and the POORE'S. i
found my great grandmother and great uncle at Bales cemetery. My
grandfathers name was JAMES ARTHUR HAMMITT he was born in 1917.
ALBERT HAMMITT or UNLCE AB as we called him when I was a kid were
brothers sons of MICKEY J. POORE ( there are more children). From
what I am told their father was WILLIAM F. HAMMITT and his father was
WASH HAMMITT and his mother was NANCY GAWER. MICKEYS mother and
father maybe JOHN POORE and MARY or NANCY POORE. This is really
confussing since I have really know family that recounts anything and
I am one of the last HAMMITT decendents that I know of. JAMES ARTHUR

NEW update: Minos Washington Arnett 1848 MD - 1928 MS. (and) James
Henry Arnett 1845 MD -1935 TN. are not brothers, they are by word of
mouth, "1st. Cousins". One proof is Minos parents are Thomas Arnett
and Eliza Cowley and James Henry Arnett's Mother was a N.J. LNU.
Fathers name unknown. I am still researching to prove relationship.

James Henry Arnett b. 1845 Maryland. Lived in Vermilion Co., IL.
until the early 1870's and moved to Wayne Co., TN. James died July

1915,died Oct 22, 1999.His father's name was JAMES MEREDITH LANGFORD.
I don't know his mother's name, but he called his step-mother "MISS

I am looking for links on my great-grandfather. His name was John
Jerd DARNELL. Born May 1865 in Waynesboro (probably). He, later, went
to Oklahoma where my Grandfather was born. May have lived around
Eufala OK. John's dad (?) was supposed to have been at the battle of
Vicksburg and was killed in Louisiana by a sniper while on his way

I am looking for the family of William and Betsey WEBB. In 1850,
Betsey was staying with Alfred SMART and William was staying with
Richard SMART both in Campbell County, Kentcuky. Their place of birth
is listed as Tennessee. Both Richard's wife Martha (b abt 1824) and
Alfred's wife Nancy (b abt 1825) were born in Tennessee as well. I am
sure there is a connection between the WEBBs and these SMARTs, but I
cannot find them. William went on to marry Isabella SMART June 18,
1851 in Campbell County, KY. I am unsure of where in Tennessee these
people come from. Can anyone help me?

Zephaniah JOHNSTON was born in 1792,Wayne township, Mifflin Co.,PA.
Zeph is on the 1811 Maury Co., Tennessee Tax List and is not on the
1816 Tax List. May have served in the WAR of 1812. Zephaniah JOHNSON
is in the 1820 and 1830 census for Wood Township, Clark Co.,IN.
Married Catherine GILWICK in Jeffersonville in 1818. Catherine's
parents were Andrew GILWICK and Julia MINTER GILLIWICK. Zeph and
Catherine JOHNSON had 6 children 1) Polly (Mary) JOHNSON, born 1820,

Looking for info regarding family of William Earl King. He was born
June 14, 1900(could be a little later) Had sisters named: Ruth
Cooper, Sue Rivers and Christine Aylor. Also had 2 brothers: Tom and
Alvin. Mother was married more than once. He was married to Ruth
Brocklesby on Sept 4, 1904. They lived in Massachusetts and had 3

I am researching the David CARTER family from Wayne County. I would

Looking for info on Bessie Clarence Dickerson.Born abt. 1885. She was
the daughter of Mary E.(Mollie) Hamm and William Joseph Dickerson.
Mary was the daughter of Henry D. Hamm. All of Wayne County.Bessie
ended up in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma with her father, William
and his second wife, Nora Morgan. We have a few photos of Bessie.
Heard that she was once married to a river boat gambler and she died
during the great flu epidemic.I'd really like to hear from her Hamm
branch of the tree.

I am looking for more info. on a Silas (or at least he went by this)
Shropshire. He was born Mar. 3 1869 in England to what I have
gathered) then put on a ship for The U. S at a very young age. I'm
not sure if he came here to live with family or was adopted. Silas
also, told my dad that his mothers name was Sally which is hear say
by ny father. The info. that I have found include his first wife, my
g -g- grandmother Nancy Farmer (which my dad l look just like) born
1866 in T. N. They had several children including John Emmit
Shropshire (my g-grandfather) b. May 28, 1891 in T. N. or S.C. and
died July 1 1961 in Rutherford Co. N.C. They also had other children
born in states such as K. Y, T. N. and S.C. They divorced. He then
had marriages with Flora Thompson b. 1916. (not sure of the children
that they had), Laura Breeding b.1913 Claibourne Co. T. N. d.
1949(buried in the same cemetery that he was, Luttrell T. N. Cem.
Union Co. T. N. with Artil Funeral Home taking care of Funeral
