Looking for info on Cebert Martin BROOKS, b. 16 Jul 1831 in Maury Co and d. 21 Oct 1885 in Wayne Co., TN. He marr Elizabeth Caroline THOMPSON 10 Dec 1856 in Wayne Co. Children were: Sarah Francis, Charles Bailey Tennessee, Cebert Martin Beauregard (M.D.), Albert Sidney Johnston also M.D. and my Grandfather), George Andrew Bedford, and Ann Eliza Jane. WHTTEN is the name I am researching. My gg-grandfather was named Mason Whitten borm 1831. He may have been Mason Jr. and lived in Wayne Co. TN before moving to Lauderdale Co. AL. He died in 1895 in Lauderdale Co and is buried in PleasantView Cemetery. He married Sarah Elizabeth Smith. Their daughter my g-grandmother was Laura Ann Whitten born 1858 and married Henry Karson Wesson also buried in PleasantView. Any information on the Mason Whitten family would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for William Rupert Smith born about 1812 in TN. He married Elizabeth Bacham 1834 Lawrence Co. AL. I would like to submit the following for the best of my knowledge known to be true : Homer Clarence Kilburn was born in Allens Town near Waynesboro, TN, I remember visiting the old foundry when I was very young and my father was alive. He was born in August 1889, I remember this as his brother John Kilburn sent him the family bible in 1955 so my father could get his social security, as he had no birth record during these times. I still have this letter from his brother who was from Florence, Ala. My father passed away in 1957 and his brother shorthly thereafter. He had one other brother I dont recall the name but, was involved in the banking business in Waynesboro. From the best I can recall my fathers, father was named Elijah Kilburn, and not to sure but, Elijah was married to Martha who passed away in 1903. There are so many Kilburn's from this part of the country, until recently I thought I did not have any relatives but, have discovered differently since retiring from the Naval Service and now have time to research.
Any help you may offer to me to find any of my relatives that are now living would be deeply appreciated.

Hi, I don't know my great grandmothers name, her sister may have been nick named mattie, she married my great grandfather, robert wood they had 4 children, duty, nelmay, georgia, and babe. My grandma georgia married john koerts. My great grandmother is suposed to be full blooded cherokee. At some point they lived in McMinnville Tenn.warren county. Desperately looking for any info on my ancestors Jackson ATWOOD and his wife Sarah P. TOLLE ATWOOD. Jackson supposedly died in Homer, TN, when a tree fell on him in about 1893. I'm not sure which county Homer was in, but think it was in the general vicinity of Wayne County. I would love to find a death record, cemetery record, etc. anything to document his death. I am looking for any pictures of my father, Marvin James Nutt b 03 Feb 1918, when he was young, and pictures and other info regarding his mother Myrtle Elizabeth Casteel Nutt who was born about 1890 and died in 1922. I am searching for information regarding the ancestry of my paternal grandparents Lee Dallas and Myrtle Casteel Nutt. Lee was born 12/01/1889 and died 10/22/61. Myrtle was born 04/16/1889 and died 09/19/22 about two weeks after giving birth. The child also died. They resided in or around the 48 community and had four other children -- Herman, Lois (Brewer), Marvin, and Lillie (Kelley). I would especially like pictures of Marvin (my father).

MARTHA HOWARD, (1859) and R. B. DARNELL (Robert) (1854) married May 1, 1875 in Wayne County. I AM LOOKING FOR MARTHA HOWARD's PARENTAGE. The 1880 Wayne Co., 12th Civil Dist, Census list Robert C? Darnell, b Tn, Tn, Tn, MARTHA, b Al, SC, SC, and their children: William J.J. (1877) and Lovada E. (1879) both b in Tn. Later they have three more children: Robert B. (1884), Tx, James Craven, (1886), Ark, and Mattie, (abt 1888). Oral Family History says Mattie is given to a Dr. Brown and his wife who moved to Tx. I suspect MARTHA died at Mattie's birth. (Family History also has no memory of William J. J.,
it is believed he died very young.) Robert B. Darnell remarried abt 1890 to Mary Jane Warren Bradley, (1863) Al, and they had 7 more children. Any Information would be helpful, Thanks.

I am currently searching my mother's family line Martins of Martin Mills, TN. I am now searching my g g grandfather Samuel A. Martin born 1816. Married to Rebecka Ann Lawson. They moved to Pope County, Arkansas in around 1858. It is said on census his father was born in Tennessee and mother Kentucky. Trying to find his Father's name. If it's any of the older Martins of late 1700's John William, Nathaniel, Isaac, Benjamin in the Wayne County, TN area. Any Info or connection would help.

DAUGHERTY, O'DOHERTY, DOUGHERTY. I am looking for information on my GGF Nicholas "O'Doherty" Daugherty. I show he was born in TN about 1826-27. Don't know where in TN. He moved to MO, married Lovina Runyan in 1849 then moved on to TX.

John Newton TICER and Sarah Helen EDWARDS Ticer had 6 childten in TN. between 1845 and 1863. They were Martha TICER, Jane TICER, Christopher C TICER who married Mary Jane NORMAN, John Henerson TICER who married Sarah SIMMONS, Caroltta TICER who was married to both a Mr. FRANK and CORN, and Allen TICER. Does anyone have any information on this family??? I would be happy to exchange what little I have. Christorpher was my grandfather and I have more on his family but very little on the others.

My Grandfather, Karl TINNON TYREE, son of Minnie HUGHES(HILL) and Jonathan Cyrus TYREE, Grandson of Thomas Jefferson TYREE and Elizabeth ELLIOTT TYREE was born in Clifton in 1897 and graduated from UT in 1920 and moved to Flor AL that year. Looking for info on "Miss Minnie" (his mother) that lived in 2 story house overlooking River at the Ferry Dock. Also, heard his middle name comes from a Doctor in Clifton, Dr. TINNON. Do not know anything about the TINNON family.

looking for information on james isaiah BLACKWOOD who married francis elizabeth CODY in the late 1800s. believe that james BLACKWOOD was the son or grandson of "honest" john BLACKWOOD who migrated from king's mountain, nc to wayne co., tn. john BLACKWOOD of king's mountain, nc was a son or grandson of a BLACKWOOD who immigrated form ireland and married jeanette reid BRADSHAW. (BLACKWOOD & BRADSHAW are said to be buried in the old pisgah cemetery in king's mountain, nc-whichis supposed to be near an area once known as "crowder's creek where they owned land.) i have some letters dating from the early 1960's between my grandfather, a neil BELL and a virginia MOFFITT that i transcribed for him when i was a teenager. any info. that

I am trying to locate my past relatives for a personal Family Tree. I am looking for the relatives of my grandmother and grandfather. Grady Raymond Griffith and Myra Ella Mae Griffith (same name) possibly cousins but, they were married. Both were born in Tennessee and eventually died in Butler County, Hamilton, Ohio. She died in 1976 and he died in 1984. She had 4 brothers and he had 2 brothers and 4 sisters. I especially am interested in his family. There is a John W. Walker (b Oct 1877; d 18 Sep 1914), buried Shields Cemetery, according to his death certificate he was the son of Daniel C. Did John W. marry? If so, to whom?

Looking for information about Sarah Jane HAYES born about 1861 in Wayne County TN to William and Sarah HAYES. She might be the Jane HAYES that married William BROWN in Lewis County TN in 1891. I wonder if William BROWN might have been from Wayne County?
Also looking for information about Francis Elizabeth ALLEN, a Wayne County resident that married Reuben G. BROWN 1 April 1857, and is in his 1860 Wayne County Census household. They had children, Elizabeth and James W. BROWN. Reuben died (see Tennnessee Civil War Pension Abstracts for Union Veterans) and Elizabeth married 2nd Louis TILLER and is in his 1870 Wayne County TN census household with her two BROWN children, ages 10 and 8 and two TILLER children ages 2 and 10 months. Trying to determine if Elizabeth ALLEN Brown Tiller might be a sister to my 2G grandmother, Sarah E. ALLEN HAYES. Is she the same

Looking for John B.S. Turnage. Daughter Sarah E(Lizzie) married Reuben Franklin in Columbia Tenn and was living there in 1870 and 1880 with her mother Mary listed in 1860 Wayne Census. Sarah went on to marry R.J. Scrimsher of Huntsille Ala.

Hello, my name is Thomas Walker Lawson and i am a desentent of Thomas Jefferson Lawson of Wayne county. Can you help or put me in touch with someone who can provide information about my great, great grandfather. My grandfather was John James Lawson and my dad was Jessie Walker Lawson. They all came from Lutts, TN to Arkansas in the 1930's. My Aunt Linnie Lawson Angel was married to Fred Angel of Clover Bend, Alabama just south of Lutts. We can't trace the family back past my Thomas Jefferson's dad.
