My great-great grandfather married a woman named Rachel, who I am told was 100 percent cherokee. They had 9 children, of whom my grandfather James Legion THOMPSON was from Wayne County. Any help in finding out more about Rachel and her ancestry would be apprecaited.

COTHAM, ROBERTS

My research has revealed that my great grandfather Alfred Sampson COTHAM and my great grandmother Ruth Paralee ROBERTS were married in Wayne County on June 26, 1873. I was curious whether anyone knows of any marriage records or other records from that time period that might contain additional information. Thank you.
