I am seeking information on the family of Joseph Ross BELL (1857-1901) and his wife
Delphia D. MCLEMORE BELL (1858 - ?). Delphia was the daughter of James H. and Sallie A.
WHITAKER MCLEMORE. Joseph, the son of William Ross and Jane Elizabeth MEREDITH BELL, died
21 July, 1901 in Wayne County, Tennessee and is buried at Bell Cemetery. I can find no
record of his family after his death. He and Delphia had the following children: James
Ross BELL (b. 1884), Brownie or Myrtle E. BELL (b. 1886), Joseph Dickens BELL (b. 1888),
and Mary Virginia BELL (b. 1890). Delphia probably remarried and moved from Wayne County.

I am seeking info on Capt. GEORGE W. COOK,Sr.,BORN C.1813 TN, died in Clark Co.,AR in
1888. He lived in Wayne Co. TN 1830-1850. Known children born in Wayne Co. TN: MARY

George William RODGERS - I am searching for a George William Rodgers that was born in
Wayne County, Tennessee on July 29, 1875. He died in 1957 and is buried in the Hughes

Searching for my grandfather's paternal father. Bentley Harrison WILLIAMS was born in
Gibson County on September 6, 1892. His mother was Elizabeth "Lizzie" TATUM and

Am looking for information on WILLIAM B. COATS listed on the Wayne County census
roll#328 . His neighbor is listed on the same roll as SAMUEL MARTIN. In the
book"Records of the Cherokee Agencies in Tennesses 1801 -1835 Samuel Martin is
located on Candy Creek Tennesse with a value of $280.28 on property prior to the removal

William Rutledge was born in June 1756 in Carlyle, PA, entered Rev. War service in 1777
in Rowan Co., NC. He moved to Wilkes Co., NC, where he married Chloe Johnson in 1782.
About 1795 he moved to Williamson Co., TN, and Maury Co. in 1807. In 1829, he moved to
Wayne Co., TN, where he died after filing a pension application in 1834. Children of Wm.

Looking for descendants of MICHAEL ELIJAH DICUS. His son, WILEY DYCUS married SABRE
PICKETT, 1831 in Wayne Co. Tn. and settled in what is now Carlisle Co. Ky. SABRE is

John BRADY, age 20, Jane Brady, age 17, and Beady Bivens, female age 30 are in the same
household on 1850 census, Wayne Co., TN. I found the maiden name for Eliza Jane WOODARD
Brady in a WALKER bio in the Wayne Co., TN, History Book, and know that John and Eliza
Jane are parents of my great grandfather, William J. A. Brady, but don't know the

Is the W. V. Akin listed in the will of John Akin, Rev. of Wayne Co, TN the same
William V. Akin that shows up in Decatur Co. TN ( actually Perry Co) abt 1828 m. to Edna
and had 11 children? Is Rev. Samuel Akin that is in Lick Creek Perry Co.Tn by 1825 and one
of the first 2 Rev.'s of a primitive Baptist church in Lick Creek the son Samuel listed in
the will? Looking for any connection for I have a Lot Akin b. abt 1802 GA that shows up
about the same time as Rev. Samuel in Perry Co and is listed there in 1830 census . My Lot
Akin is listed in 1840 as "black" but in 1850-1870 as "white". Poss.
he is actually Native American. William V. Akin ( of Decatur Co/Perry Co) came to Maury Co
about 1801 and was b. in SC. Looking for any clues.

Looking for information on William H. Evans (including death date and burial place), b
abt 1812 in either VA or England, died late 1850's probably in Wayne County. Was married
to Louisa Jane Russ or Rust in 1840 in Maury County. Children were Andrew (b abt 1841),
Joseph H. (b abt 1843), James P. (b abt 1845), William G. (Mar 1852, my gggrandfather),
and Clay (b. abt 1857). William G. married an Eliza, last name unknown, somewhere around
1875 supposedly in TN, and their first 3 children b. TN: Cora, 1875; Tina, 1876; Hardy
Goodman, 1879. After the 1880 census (where were they?), they moved to Van Zandt Co TX,
where they had Mattie (b 1883). Obviously I've got a lot of missing bits, and looking for
answers....

I think my gggrandfather, William Holt, who died in Hinds County, MS in 1836 may have
been related to Ambrose Holt who was in Wayne County after about 1800. I think Ambrose was
a brother of William Holt, Sr. the father of my William. Any info would be deeply
