LOCATION: This cemetery is located in the Lutts area in the southwest section of Wayne County. It is just off the Walker Johnson and Dougal McFall road that connects the Second Creek and Grassy Creek road, property now owned by a Petty family. It is not far from the old McFall School.
This cemetery had been turned into a hog lot. There were several field stones that had been turned over and out of place, a few were still in place enough to tell they were marking a grave. Only one marker was found with a name on it. It "was" a good size marker, waist high or higher.

Centenary Cemetery
LOCATION: This cemetery is located on Second Creek Road, about 2 miles north of TN Highway 69. The cemetery is to the west of Second Creek Road and is called Centenary because it was begun in 1876. The story is told that the original cemetery was located at the confluence of Grassy Creek and Second Creek and that the old cemetery was washed away in a flood in early 1876. The new cemetery was started on higher ground and was named in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

LOCATION: These two graves are located in the garden at Madison Daniel's house on the new Weatherford Creek Road, about two-and-a-half miles south of Lutts. No stones remain, but the following are known to be buried here.
STRIBLING, John Birdsong, born 1789 in South Carolina, died between 1870-1880. STRIBLING, Hannah White, wife of John Birdsong STRIBLING, born 1790, died between 1860-1870.
Mr. Daniel stated that he remembered two field stones marking three graves at the end of the garden when he was a boy. The stones were gone when he bought the property.
John Birdsong STRIBLING and Hannah White STRIBLING were the great- grandparents of Thomas Sigismund STRIBLING, Pulitzer Prize winning novelist from Clifton, Tennessee.
