There are two RAY Cemeteries; one is called the Ray Cemetery (West) and the other is called the Ray Cemetery (East). This listing is the west cemetery. RAY, Tamer COLE, 22 May 1866 - 26 December 1898. Daughter of Andrew and Emily COLE.
Second wife of Tom S. RAY; mothr of Willie and
Vera RAY. Tamer died as a result of a
typhoid epidemic. Ironically, her brother, John
Bennett COLE, died from the same epidemic.
COLE, John Bennett, 12 November 1876 - 18 November 1899. Son of Andrew and Emily
COLE; brother of Tamer COLE RAY. Supposedly
died the same year as his sister, but
tombstone has different date.

The White/Morrow Cemetery is southeast of Green River in Waynesboro, TN. To reach the cemetery, travel south on Tennessee Highway #13 1.8 miles. Turn east off highway 13 onto Helton Street and go .2 miles. Turn right onto Upper Green River Rd. and travel .6 miles. Turn left at the Green River Tabernacle and travel .1 miles and turn right over a small bridge. Drive along side the field and up a small hill. The cemetery is directly in front inside a fence.
This cemetery, according to sources, is actually two cemeteries. The first being the White Cemetery and the second being the Morrow Cemetery. The Morrow Cemetery has no recent burials whereas the White Cemetery has a burial as recent as 2008. In this enumeration, the White Cemetery is listed first & the Morrow Cemetery next.

The Shields Cemetery lies just south of Waynesboro, Tennessee. To reach the cemetery, travel south from Waynesboro on State Highway #13. Turn left (east) onto Green River Access Rd. beside the Green River Baptist Church. Travel 3 tenths of a mile and turn right at the cemetery sign. Go about 1 tenth mile to the cemetery. The cemetery is surrounded by a chain link fence and the grounds are well maintained. This survey was completed May 21, 2008.

LOCATION: Just a short distance below the Warren Cemetery on the lower end of what is known as the Old Throgmorton place upon a bluff was found some old walled up graves that had been torn into. The stones were in disarray. No names available of the people buried here.
